I wanted to write a nice long post about today's ten-year anniversary of the WTO riots, but it'll have to wait as work calls. I really should learn how to link posts, but I'm not even going to bother pointing you to the piece of crap that Lynda V. Mapes wrote in Sunday's Seattle Times. From the article, you'd think the author's knowledge of Seattle began and ended with a copy of Sleepless In Seattle rented from Blockbuster.
Here's a hint, Lynda: WTO was a symptom, not a cause of Seattle's ills. As a former journalist, I quickly figured out that one of the main duties in my job was to pay attention to what's going on. It's pretty sad to see that some people in the business consider that to be optional.
